Arboricultural Implications Assessment (AIA)

The Arboricultural Implications Assessment should identify and evaluate the direct and indirect impact on existing trees and should consider the following:

a) The effect that development proposals may have on the amenity value of trees, both on and near the site

b) The above and below ground constraints

c) The construction of the proposed development

d) Whether the design and/or construction of the proposed development can be modified to accommodate retention of trees that would otherwise be at risk or lost

e) Infrastructure requirements, e.g. easements for underground or above ground services; highway safety and visibility splays; and other infrastructural provisions, such as substations, refuse stores, lighting, signage and CCTV requirements

f) The end use of the space, and

g) Whether tree loss resulting from the development proposals can be acceptably mitigated by new tree planting.
